The Tibetan skull cup (Kapala or Thod-pa) is a potent symbol of impermanence and is used in tantric Buddhist ritual practices to represent the transformation of delusion into wisdom. The Kapala is used for a variety of offering rituals and a wonderful edition to your vajrayana shrine. We recommend this for practitioners or groups practicing the Kalachakra tsok.  Traditionally a Kapala is created from a human cranium.  In modern times it has become difficult to source genuine skulls and so replicas are often substituted in the rituals. These replicas are from the Kathmandu Valley near the Boudhanath Stupa in Nepal.
