The deity of Heruka Vajrasattva is the symbolic manifestation the innate purity of our mind. Through working with this meditational image, we purify the mind stream of negative karmic propensities and connect with our enlightened nature. This particular depiction is unique to the Jonang Tradition and closely connected with the practice of the Kalachakra completion stage.
Above Heruka Vajrasattva are the lineage masters Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen and Jetsun Taranatha with Vajradhara between them.
This image was custom commissioned to be be hand-painted by an artist at the Boudhanath Stupa in Nepal based on sacred images selected by Khentrul Rinpoche. It has been framed in high-quality silk brocade with brass finials ends.
