White Tara specifically is known for her swift activity to increase long life, wisdom and improve health. It is said that “the mere sound of her name dispels death, sickness, misery, and bestows long life”. All forms of Tara are embodiment of the ultimate aspect of femininity, the wisdom that manifests as the swift activities of all the Buddhas.
This was custom commissioned to be be hand-painted by artists at the Boudhanath Stupa in Nepal. The image is based on the sacred images selected by Khentrul Rinpoche for practitioners to use for visualization practices. It has been framed in high-quality silk brocade with brass finials ends.
