The Kalachakra Mandala is a symbolic representation of our enlightened nature. Viewed from above, the mandala provides a blue-print for visualizing a three-dimensional mansion that is home to six hundred and thirty-six deities. The mansion is made up of three floors, representing the body, speech, mind and primordial wisdom of Kalachakra. Unlike in other paintings where the deities appear as seed syllables, in this uniquely detailed print from Dzamthang Monastery in Tibet, all of the deities are visible adding an extra level of blessing.

Thangkas are traditional scroll paintings that are used as supports for meditation. They usually depict various representations of deities, mandalas, and enlightened beings. Since the outer representation of deities is often one of the first things we encounter, it is extremely important for these representations to be painted accurately in order to create the best karmic propensities for the teachings to flourish in the mind of the student. Khentrul Rinpoche has taken great care working closely with master Thangka painters and relying on the source texts to ensure the authenticity of each form.

Reproduced on high-quality silk, these thangkas look beautiful when displayed and are also easy to roll for travel. You can choose one of silk print thangka framed in beautiful brocade in the traditional Tibetan style in a variety of colors.
